AAI Team Attends African Higher Education Summit in Senegal

A team from AAI is attending a three-day interactive summit from March 10-12, in Dakar, Senegal, aimed at building a platform for stakeholders to collectively chart a way forward in strengthening the higher sector in Africa.

AAI President & CEO Amini Kajunju and Brian McGinley, AAI Development Director, joined hundreds of attendees at The African Higher Education Summit to exchange experiences and perspectives on topics such as equity and access and investing and mobilizing continental leadership for higher education.

The summit theme is “Revitalizing Higher Education for Africa’s Future”. University leaders, education and development experts and representatives of education organizations from Africa and other regions of the world are participating in a series of plenary sessions and panels to create a shared vision on how to transform Africa’s higher education sector.

Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary General, delivered a March 11 keynote address on the theme, “Higher Education and Africa’s Social, Economic and Political Progress”.
