AAI Weighs in on Diaspora Engagement at Cameroonian American Chamber of Commerce Event

Participants at the Cameroonian American Chamber of Commerce’s inauguration reception

The Cameroonian American Chamber of Commerce (CAMAM) hosted an inauguration reception on Feb. 22 in Washington, D.C., where AAI President Amini Kajunju delivered a keynote address on empowering the African Diaspora for development.

In the keynote address, Kajunju spoke about the importance of diaspora engagement in development initiatives in Africa, and the role of the AAI in empowering Africans with the tools needed to successfully contribute to the advancement of the continent. Additionally, she highlighted how  diaspora-led organizations can partner and collaborate with AAI.

CAMAM’s mission is to advocate for private sector development in Cameroon, particularly through promoting active engagement from members of the diaspora in the United States.

Other topics discussed at the reception included trade, aid, and the diaspora and promoting knowledge sharing.
