AAI to Co-Host Leadership Conference in South Africa

AAI Transformational Leadership Program partner-University of Stellenbosch Business School-Executive Development (USB-ED) will host the NPO Leadership Imbizo on Oct. 28 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The full-day conference, in partnership with The Africa-America Institute (AAI) and The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation, will explore strategies for nonprofit organizations (NPOs) to achieve greater sustainability through attracting support and investment and strengthening the capacity of leaders.

Amini Kajunju, President and CEO of the Africa-America Institute (AAI), will lead a workshop on leadership capacity development.

The Imbizo conference will feature keynote addresses by Shelagh Gastrow, Executive Director of Inyathelo on “A shift from a charitable paradigm to one of positioning for investment and attracting support” and Varkey George, Director of MIGS on “Multiple Income Generating Strategies as a possible response to NPO sustainability”.

Other guest speakers and panelists discussing leadership capacity development and demystifying monitoring and evaluation are David Newby, Managing Trustee of SEED Educational Trust; Jennifer Bisgard, Director of Khulisa Management Services; Peter Bamkole, Director for Enterprise Development Centre, Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos; and Rhoda Kadalie, Executive Director of Impumelelo Social Innovations Centre.
