On September 19, 2007, AAI hosted a record-breaking 23rd Annual Awards Gala. President Kikwete of Tanzania was the guest of honor and gave the keynote address at the event. In addition, AAI held several events and meetings in New York and Washington, D.C. as well as in Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, and South Africa throughout 2007. AAI Alumnus: Gidion Mandesi, Executive Director of DOLASED |
At AAI's 23rd Annual Awards Gala in September, Mr. Gidion Mandesi, Founder and Executive Director of the Disabled Organization for Legal Affairs and Social Economic Development (DOLASED) in Tanzania was awarded the AAI Distinguished Alumnus Award. Mr. Mandesi, who is blind himself, received a scholarship to attend American University in Washington, D.C., where he earned a master of laws (L.L.M.) degree...
