Since AAI’s founding, our publications and policy insights have provided in-depth analyses of the continent’s dramatic political and economic developments. Seeking to inform and engage education, government, international development, and business leaders in the U.S. on key issue areas related to Africa, AAI produces timely monthly blogs; a quarterly e-newsletter, THE AAI CONNECTION; issue and policy briefs; and bold perspectives from our alumni and influential African leaders.

From 1956 through 1995, AAI published The Africa Report magazine—once called the most significant Africa-focused publication in the U.S.—which chronicled the transformations and struggles taking root across Africa, as the continent moved towards political independence after centuries of colonialism, oppression, and exploitation. Historical issues of Africa Report will soon be available online and searchable by subject.
